Wedding Bliss

Its been a long time since I posted anything .In celebration of me and my husbands 34th wedding anniversary I thought I would post some wedding cards I created for my two nephews and their new wives. I Hope that their new beginning together will convince my boys to propose to their beautiful girlfriends. The creative process for me takes time. Each card I make has each person’s unique personality and style in mind. It may take me days to do. I do and re do them many times before  it comes together. The wedding I attended first was on State St in Boston Massachusetts. It was beautifully executed and so much fun.The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. Some of them even showed us their dance moves while serving us.

The ceremony was personal and the vows were written from the heart. The love they share is pure and true. You can tell by every glance they exchanged. So the card shows the elegance of the day and the love in their hearts.

The second wedding we attended was in Newport Rhode Island .The wedding vows were just as amazing as the first. The love the bride and groom have for each other showed through also with each glance they exchanged. The view of the ocean from the venue was awesome the weather was beautiful .The vibe of this wedding was also elegant but a more casual atmosphere with a beach theme even offering flip flops for the dancing. There was no wedding cake but the bride and groom shared a cupcake showing their playful side. Each wedding  different but elegant and wonderful. To top it off the whole family got to be together. My boys ,their dad ,and their girlfriends where all dressed up. Everyone looked amazing. It was a great celebration of two couples embracing their new journey together as one. Congratulations to my nephews and their wives. May your lives from this day forward be blessed with happiness love and new adventures.  Love Auntie Kim

Goodbye Auntie Sue

We remember you today as the life of the party.

We remember you today as the life of the party.

I have been out of work for a while. So I decided to make my time worth while. I have two aunts in their 80s, So I made it a part of my weekly routine to visit.Every Tuesday morning I would visit my aunt in Lawrence at the nursing home. Afternoon I would visit my aunt in Methuen at her daughters house. Last week I finally got a job and those Tuesday visits were not possible. So I called my aunts to let them know I was unable to visit. I felt very bad, I loved visiting them they made me smile, it was a wonderful experience getting to know them again.
On Friday after work I had this uncontrollable urge and a sense of urgency to visit with her. It was late afternoon and my boys came with me. We got to the nursing home on Friday afternoon her son, her granddaughter, and her great granddaughters where there visiting from California. She was very talkative and happy to see everyone.
Oxygen was a part of her daily life,so when she began wheezing a bit with her oxygen on I knew this was not a good sign. She looked tired and pale.I began to think about what was to come. I felt good about our visit but I didn’t feel confident about seeing her next week.
On Monday morning I received a call from my sister. I knew this was not good. My Aunt Sue had passed away.I was not surprised but I was very sad.
While attending the funeral, all I could do to keep myself from crying was this.I pictured my aunt around a gigantic table surrounded by her family members that had passed welcoming her and celebrating her entrance into heaven.
Attending the dinner was my mom, grandpa, grandma, uncle Bill, her husband Al,my god parents and all the other relatives who left this world. She was laughing so hard and her smile was big and bright something I hadn’t seen in years. The table was long covered with the longest white table cloth I ever seen. She was dressed in a colorful flowered sequence blouse, big earrings, and so much bright costume jewelry it lit up the room. She was sitting next to my mom catching up and talking about me,my sisters, brothers, and all her grandchildren she never met. It was a wonderful vision to soothe my sorrowed heart.
I did feel sad but I had no guilt or regrets about her death. I was her sunshine every week with my visits as she was mine through my whole life.I felt so honored to have the opportunity to see her on a weekly basis.
So Suzie say hi to my mom for me and tell her we all miss her and love her with all our hearts.
Take the time today to visit a relative that is aging. If you can make it a weekly experience do it.Because when their time comes you will feel sad but you will have no regrets or guilt. Take time to appreciate them and their lives. It is a small sacrifice to make for a smile and to celebrate them.Have a nice day.

Remember her and the love and kindness she spread on her time on earth.

My Husband

Today’s subject is my husband. I hope all of you out there are totally in love with yours because I am. I wouldn’t trade my life with him for anything.

My Husband

An enormous heart full of love empathy and forgiveness,
A soul that permeates kindness to strangers,
An intelligent mind filled with an abundance of knowledge
Powerful hands that extend and give to others without hesitation,
An infectious laugh that echoes loudly, cheering up a troubled soul,
Warm eyes that peer inside others only to see the best qualities.
A sense of humor that always finds the right path to my smile,
Muscular arms which embraces, protects and soothes my aching heart,
Shoulders strong standing tall willing to carry the burdens of others so they don’t have to,
A deep voice that speaks for the forgotten,
A bright smile that illuminates the room when he enters it,
A man cherished by his family and respected by others
These are all the special traits inside of my husband.
A wonderful caring man that brings out the best in me,
I love him with all my heart.

Shelby and Jay Tie The Knot

My son’s best friend’s sister is getting married tomorrow. My son called me to ask if I could make the couple a card.  It felt great, that he asked me to make it. That must mean he really likes my cards because he is giving them to others.

Remember  when your kids were young  the last thing they wanted to do is hang out, or go places with you. They ask to go to the movies and you had to drop them off where the parking lot started so their friends couldn’t see them being dropped off by you. When they went to the  mall they wanted your money  but walked ahead of you so they weren’t seen with you.

So when my son asked me to make the card for him you could imagine how I felt. Yes I felt like a kid at Christmas. Very excited.. So if your kids are still young and they don’t want to be seen with you. Don’t worry it’s just not convenient for them right now. I promise that will change. They will grow up to respect and enjoy their time with you. Really they will.

May your Honeymoon never end!!

May you be blessed with happiness always.
